Tag Templates
We have prepared tag
templates for your use. These tags were made using Microsoft
Word. If you have this program, you can download these tags to your
computer. You can print them out at home and write on the tags.
You can also save the template onto your computer, and type your own
information, and print out one page at a time. Just decorate, cut, and
attach to your items!
NOTE: YOU MUST PRINT THESE TAGS
ONTO CARD STOCK PAPER! Regular printer paper will rip. If you use
regular paper, you will be assessed the $5 processing fee for improperly
prepared tags. Please see the tag
preparation page for complete information about preparing your tags.
The most important thing about
tags is consistency. Make a choice of templates, color, and design – stick
with it! If you choose to use these prepared tags, use them for all your
tags. It is very important for the speed of the sorting process that
your tags are all the same.
-
Look through your items, and
estimate how many tags you will need. It is important to choose all the
same tags. If you are purchasing card stock or index cards, be sure you buy
enough. If you come back later for more tags – the correct size and
color might not be available. So, be sure to buy enough tags the first
time.
-
Choose the
tag template that you will use. The
larger tags fit eight to a page, and the
smaller ones fit twelve to a page.
Use the same size for all of
your tags.
-
Choose a color. Please make sure that you
make enough
tags to finish all your items! Use the same color for all of your
tags.
-
Be sure to write your
consignor number on all tags. Since these tags will most likely look
similar to those of another consignor, please double check your tags for the
correct number.
-
Decorate your tags. If you use
these downloaded or prepared tags, you MUST decorate them in a unique way.
You can use a stamp in a certain area on the tag. Or, you can highlight
the edges of the tag. Or you can use fancy shaped scissors to cut
apart the tags. Please be sure that you are consistent in preparing your
tags. Try to keep handwriting consistent.
It is very important that your tags are unique and consistent – so that they
will be sorted into your bag! Use the same decoration(s)
on all of your tags.
-
Put a standard size hole
punch where the “#” symbol is
located (for all tags that will be used on clothing) and attach to your items.
If you are using a tagging gun, you do not need a hole punch.
